Chris Kelly is the Program Deputy Director for the Networks of Centres of Excellence Secretariat, which offers a suite of programs that mobilize Canada’s best research, development of highly qualified personnel, and entrepreneurial expertise, and focus it on specific issues and strategic areas to benefit all Canadians. Specializing in supporting multidisciplinary and multisectoral research, prior to joining the NCEs Chris led various teams including the Canadian Agricultural Strategic Priorities Program at Agriculture and Agri-food Canada, initiated the evolution of the College and Community Social Innovation Fund at NSERC, and led the prestigious Canada Research Chairs Program through its implementation of new EDI requirements at SSHRC.
