Fabiana Bacchini
Fabiana Bacchini is the Executive Director of the Canadian Premature Babies Foundation (CPBF) and a passionate advocate for preemies and their families. Her journey began in the NICU with her surviving twin, Gabriel, who was born extremely preterm and later diagnosed with cerebral palsy. This experience has fueled her dedication to improving care and outcomes for children with neurodevelopmental disabilities.
Through her role at CPBF, Fabiana has collaborated extensively with families, researchers, and healthcare providers across Canada. As an ambassador for Family Integrated Care (FICare), she champions family-centered care models that translate scientific innovation into practical support for families. Her work emphasizes ensuring that research advancements are accessible and beneficial in real-world settings.
As an immigrant and mother of a child with cerebral palsy, Fabiana understands the systemic barriers families face, particularly in accessing early diagnosis, specialized therapies, and ongoing support. Her experience navigating these challenges motivates her to advocate for inclusive and equitable programs that address these gaps.
By joining the Programs Advisory Committee for Kids Brain Health Network, Fabiana hopes to contribute her expertise in assessing program impact and advancing initiatives that create meaningful change for children and families across Canada.
