ARE YOU READY OFR THE KBHN 2022 CONGRESS?

Mark your calendars! The KBHN Annual conference will be held in conjunction with the International Society for Developmental Origins of Health and Disease (DOHaD) and DOHaD Canada, August 27-31, 2022, in Vancouver.

We are delighted to be holding our 12th annual conference in partnership with the DOHaD 2022 International Congress! This partnership will expand the global audience to KBHN’s work.

This year’s theme is “Social and Environmental Disruptions in DOHaD: Successful Interventions for a Healthy Future”, with keynote speakers from around the world, and sub-themes concerning new aspects and mechanisms of DOHaD, pre-pregnancy and paternal influences, the impact of DOHaD on first nations, refugees and migrant populations, and the impact of environment and climate change on DOHaD. Presentations will cover applications to world-wide populations and to interventions that optimise childhood development and healthy life trajectories.

Key characteristics of the program also include high profile opportunities for trainees and early career investigators, a strong emphasis on implementation science and involvement of families and community organisations, and application of DOHaD principles to populations, such as precision medicine on a population scale.

KBHN-Sponsored Events

Three of the Symposia at the Congress are sponsored by KBHN, and focus on areas of specific interest in the field of neurodevelopmental research:

  • Early brain development and the origins of infant mental health
  • Applications of artificial intelligence to improve health outcomes across the lifespan
  • Social determinants of DOHaD: health inequities, immigrations, racism, and sexism
