Kids Brain Health Network is one of 35 organizations that have been invited to submit a full application to the inaugural competition of the Strategic Science Fund (SSF), the federal government’s new approach to investing in not-for-profit science and research organizations. This exciting prospect would equip the network to scale up its crucial work strengthening Canada’s research ecosystem in the field of neurodevelopmental disabilities (NDDs), accelerating the uptake of relevant scientific innovations and improving outcomes for affected families.

KBHN is fortunate to have cultivated partnerships with community groups, non-profit organizations, foundations, industry, parents and health professionals. “A special thank you to partners who have provided letters of support for our SSF application, who have made financial commitments, and who have contributed their time, expertise and perspectives to our 12-year track record of impactful research innovations.” says Nicola Lewis, CEO, KBHN.

“We are proud that KBHN has been invited to the full application stage as the only organization representing children and neurodevelopmental conditions” she continues. “We believe strongly in the importance of the network’s unique mission, which is translating research into practice so that Canada’s 400,000+ children and youth with NDDs can enjoy quality of life, inclusion in all aspects of society and the attainment of their full potential. We will make every effort to continue alongside our partners to achieve this mission.”
