Sara Saber Freedman has over thirty-five years of experience in non-profit and para-public leadership, combining professional work as an executive manager with voluntary service as a director and board chair.
Ms. Saber Freedman has extensive experience in the areas of community advocacy and public policy and administration, having served as Executive Vice President of Canada’s national Jewish advocacy organization, as a senior manager for the Montreal regional health authority, and as the lead community advocate for English-language health access in Quebec.
An active community volunteer, Ms. Saber Freedman is a former director of Centraide of Greater Montreal, the United Way of Canada, Jewish Family Services of Montreal, and Québec’s Institut du Nouveau Monde. She is a past Chair of Congregation Dorshei Emet and Quebec’s Provincial Advisory Committee for English-language Health and Social Services. She currently serves as Chair of the Corporation and Advisory Committee for Lethbridge-Layton-Mackay Rehabilitation Centre, and as Chair of the Kids Brain Health Network Board of Directors.
A native of Washington DC, since 1983 she has made her home in Montréal, where she lives with husband Bram Freedman, a lawyer and CEO of the Jewish General Hospital Foundation. They are the proud parents of four now-adult children.
