Jim currently is the Executive Director for Kids Brain Health Network (a national research network dealing with children’s brain disorders). He previously worked for MITACS for seven years as their Chief Operating Officer. Jim worked in the telecommunications sector for BC Tel, Stentor and TELUS in various senior positions in Business Development, Marketing and General Management. Jim held the position of Vice-President of Local Services at BC Tel/TELUS, where he grew a $2 B market and was Vice-President of Business Transformation at TELUS. Jim has a B.A. and M.A. in Economics from Simon Fraser University and teaches an Economics course at the University of Victoria. Jim is Chair of the Board of ISSNet (a national research network in Information Security), is on the Board of GRAND (a national research network in multi-media), and is on the Board of the Canada FASD Research Network. Jim previously served on the Boards of the Vancouver Symphony and VanDusen Botanical Gardens.
