Tanya Northcott has over 22 years of experience supporting and advocating for people with neurodivergent disabilities. She is a Certified FASD Educator and has been an inspirational Guest Speaker at National and International Conferences across Canada. Tanya is currently on the Board of Directors for the Beothuk Institute, the Advisory Committee for Health Nexus and her local Arts Association. Over the years, Tanya has been on the Advisory Committee for Able2/Citizen Advocacy Ottawa: FARP (Fetal Alcohol Resource Program), FASD Coalition of Ottawa, FasdNL and most recently, the FASD Advisory Panel for the Canadian Academy of Health Sciences (CAHS). As well, she studied Indigenous Archeology at MUN (Memorial University of Newfoundland), volunteered at Wabano Centre for Aboriginal Health and is currently a volunteer for Scouts Canada. Furthermore, Tanya is a ‘Status Indian’ of Ojibway and West Coast First Nations descent and is included in the “Sixties Scoop” which led her to being adopted by a Newfoundland couple and raised in St. John’s, Newfoundland. Tanya is also an award-winning photographer and an accomplished artist.
