Indigenous Stream – Call for Proposals

Kids Brain Health Network (KBHN), in partnership with Brain Canada, is excited to launch an Indigenous funding opportunity to support impactful projects that improve outcomes for Indigenous children and youth with neurodevelopmental disabilities and their families.

2024-2025 Kids Brain Health Network Impact Report

In the 2024-2025 fiscal year, with seven months of support from the Strategic Science Fund (SSF), Kids Brain Health (KBH+) advanced high-impact initiatives supporting children with neurodevelopmental disabilities across Canada. Introducing the KBH+ logo: a unified identity for a shared mission

The Kids Brain Health team is excited to unveil the KBH+ logo, a new visual identity that brings together the collective strength of our three interconnected organizations: Kids Brain Health Network (KBHN), Kids Brain Health Foundation (KBHF), and Kids Brain Health Innovation Fund (KBH-IF).

The Social ABCs program, an early intervention initiative for toddlers with suspected or diagnosed autism, is expanding its reach to Manitoba. This expansion of the Social ABCs in Manitoba is made possible thanks to funding provided by the Kids Brain Health Foundation (KBHF) through RCC’s philanthropic arm, the Children’s Rehabilitation Foundation.

Right service at the right time: KBHN-funded researcher scales mental health care to more families

Dr. Leslie Roos has received the Canadian Institutes of Health Research (CIHR) Implementation Science Chair to embed effective mental health services into care systems. Read more…

KBHN introduces two new Board Directors

KBHN welcomes Jennifer Moles and William Pratt as the newest members of its Board of Directors. Their expertise and leadership will help guide KBHN’s mission to improve outcomes for children with neurodevelopmental disabilities and their families across Canada.

How universities can become neuro-inclusive — and what can help autistic students thrive

Authors Megan Ames (University of Victoria) and Carly McMorris (University of Calgary), whose research is supported by a Brain Canada and KBHN Innovation Program Award, offer recommendations to best support autistic students on post-secondary campuses. Read more…

Partner Opportunities

Research opportunity: Flourishing in visible minority families of autistic youth

Researchers at York University, led by graduate student Nisha Vashi under the supervision of Dr. Jonathan Weiss, are conducting a study on the positive experiences (flourishing) of visible minority families of autistic youth in Canada. Caregivers, as well as autistic youth and young adults aged 10–30, are invited to complete a 30–45 minute online survey, with the chance to win a $100 e-gift certificate.
