Cindy is a Family Peer Mentor at York Support Services Network who supports family caregivers of individuals with a developmental disability through one-to-one support, resources, workshops and support groups.

Motivated by the lived experience of my son, I am the founding director of BC Complex Kids Society, a representative on both provincial and federal advisory councils, and a parent partner in research.

Dr. Argel Aguilar-Valles received his Ph.D. in Neuroscience from McGill University in 2011. He completed two postdoctoral fellowships at the Scripps Research Institute (Florida Campus) in 2012 and at McGill University in 2018.

My interests are thoughtful and reflective critical analysis of what we do in the practice of developmental pediatrics, including the context within which we work; ensuring we consider supporting the family; and research into health, social and educational services for the population served.
