Dr. Chris Bertram’s research primarily focuses on the motor abilities of children with fetal alcohol spectrum disorder (FASD). Bertram’s interest also involves motor learning. His research around motor learning is directed toward further our understanding of how to structure learning environments. Central to this pursuit is the notion that novice performers require vastly different conditions in the learning process than do experts or elite-level performers. The specific areas of study in my lab include feedback modalities in learning, practice conditions and organization, and testing the effectiveness of training aids.
