Dr. Martin-Hill is an expert on Indigenous knowledge in community-led research, knowledge translation, and capacity building and has had an integral role in developing the Indigenous Health Research Development Program office at Six Nations Polytechnic. Dr. Martin-Hill was inaugural Chair of the Secretariat of all 9 Network Environments for Aboriginal Health Research (NEAHR) centres. She is a CIHR College Chair, member of CIHR Indigenous Peer Review Committee. She was a recipient of a US-Canada Fulbright award, Outstanding Teaching Award from the Aboriginal Institutes Consortium. She has over 30 years of experience facilitating research projects between Six Nations Polytechnic and McMaster University. Most recently, Hill was a principal investigator (PI) of two Global Water Futures Grant Projects. The first is “Co-creation of Indigenous Water Quality Tools,” and the second is “Ohneganous – Indigenous Ecological Knowledge, Training, and Co-Creation of Mixed-Method Tools.” She was also a PI for CIHR-IIPH grant, “Ohero:kon – Rites of passage” and the SSHRC grant for ‘Preserving Haudenosaunee language and ceremonies through the digitization and translation of the Hewitt Collection.”
