Dr. Cesar Victora, Ph.D
Cesar is a Brazilian born epidemiologist, academic, and specialist in child health and nutrition. He is an Emeritus Professor at the Federal University of Pelotas and holds honorary appointments at the Universities of Oxford, Harvard and John’s Hopkins. He is a past recipient of the Canada Gairdner Foundation John Dirks Global Health Award. His research has driven global policies on breastfeeding and early nutrition and includes multi-country evaluations and cohort collaborations. He was one of the coordinators of the multi-centre Growth reference study that led to the development of the WHO Child Growth Standards.
