Normand Carrey

Dr. Carrey specializes in infant mental health, family therapy and attachment theory and practice. He has trained under Dr. Klaus Minde, a world authority on infant mental health, and Dr. Ellen Moss, an international expert on attachment-based interventions. His main research interest is knowledge translation in infant mental health including Best Models of Care for infants and preschoolers at risk for severe mental health disorders. He is also interested in the differential diagnosis of mental health difficulties in preschoolers. He also serves as consultant to the mental health teams for Montreal southwest region, including Verdun and LaSalle-Lachine and the Montreal Francophone School Board. Since 1996 he has served as Head of IWK Family Therapy Program, Dalhousie University, a program which he currently co-leads with Alan McLuckie, PhD. He is the current Editor-in-Chief of the Journal of the Canadian Academy of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry.
