Rob Santos, Executive Director, Independent Practice (Retired Assistant Deputy Minister, Government of Manitoba)
Dr. Rob Santos retired in 2019 as Assistant Deputy Minister of the Healthy Child Manitoba Office, and Assistant Deputy Minister of K-12 Education, after over two decades of service as a nonpartisan public servant for the Government of Manitoba, providing scientific and cross-sectoral policy leadership regarding children and youth (prenatal to adulthood, with an emphasis on Early Childhood Development), under both Progressive Conservative and New Democratic Party administrations. A Clinical Psychologist by training, he returned to clinical practice in 2020 and continues his long-standing cross-appointments as Assistant Professor in the Department of Community Health Sciences and Research Scientist at the Manitoba Centre for Health Policy, Max Rady College of Medicine, Rady Faculty of Health Sciences, University of Manitoba. In 2021, Rob started as the new Chair of the Research Department, School of Health Sciences and Community Services at Red River College Polytechnic.
