SFU COOPERATIVE EDUCATION PROGRAM
The Simon Fraser University (SFU) Cooperative Education program provides students with the opportunity to gain real-life, paid work experience to enhance their time at the university and utilize their classroom learning in an applicable workplace setting.
Evelyn’s funding comes from the Canada Summer Jobs Program, which allows us to pay her as she continues to work for us part-time. At the end of her 20-week work term (Sep. 18, 2020 – Feb. 5, 2021), Evelyn will have acquired 285 hours with KBHN in social media, graphic design and digital analytics.
BIOGRAPHY
Evelyn Kwan is the current Communications Assistant at Kids Brain Health Network (KBHN). This work term is her 2nd co-op job within her studies as a Communications major at Simon Fraser University (SFU).
Her ultimate goal for this position is to build upon her creativity with graphic design and social media. Within this goal, she hopes to obtain experience creating social media posts for fantastic organizations such as KBHN. Since the start of her term, she has used her creativity to increase traffic and engagement on KBHN’s three social platforms and live-tweet for KBHN’s first-ever virtual conference.

- Experienced in event planning as demonstrated through the successful organization of the Adopt a Class program for the Vancouver International Children’s Festival
- Proven ability to promote small businesses through social media as demonstrated via experience as the Instagram point-person for Styo Dessert
- Outstanding written communication skills as demonstrated via publication of written work in two books and for the website, Her Campus
- Efficient capabilities using Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Photoshop, After Effects, Google Doc and Prezi
