Since the launch of Cycle II, Kids Brain Health’s National Training Program in Developmental Neurosciences has engaged over 100 graduate students annually through a suite of value-added career development activities. Over 300 individual trainees and technical staff were directly supported by the Network’s research projects throughout Cycle II. Furthermore, the training program has also engaged more than 200 non-project affiliated trainees (referred to as Associate Trainees) in network leadership and program activities throughout the academic year.

In addition to the formal Network training program, HQP and trainees supported by the Network through the funding of research projects have created opportunities for multidisciplinary enrichment of their training and exposure to many activities beyond work “in the lab.”  Most Cycle II projects and the Implementation Projects planned for Cycle III have essential community and non-academic organization partner engagement. Each of these projects has embedded trainees and research staff at the interface of project teams and these community partners, providing trainees with direct experience in the community environment and first-hand application of patient-oriented and community-driven approaches to care delivery and interventions.

Kids Brain Health has engaged hundreds of project personnel annually. The Implementation Projects planned for Cycle III have essential faculty researchers, trainees, research staff, community researchers, parents and children and finally, frontline workers embedded at every interface of project teams to ensure that each project is adequately supported.
