Deputy Chief Financial Officer

Benedicta Reis is a finance executive with 20 years of experience in financial leadership, strategy, governance and organizational transformation across Canada, the United States and Italy.

She also holds Chartered Professional Accountant and Certified Fraud Examiner designations. She currently serves as Deputy CFO and Financial Controller at TRIUMF, Canada’s national particle accelerator centre, where she leads Finance, Treasury, Procurement and Supply Chain and supports the stewardship of an annual operating budget of more than $200 million. Benedicta also served as Interim CFO during a significant leadership transition. Her experience includes securing a landmark $400 million federal funding commitment, leading a major commercial acquisition, implementing enterprise-wide systems and advising executives, boards and audit committees on financial performance, risk and long-term strategy.

Earlier in her career, Benedicta was Vice President of Finance for a diversified private investment group with operations in Canada, the United States and Italy, and held assurance leadership roles with EY. She is known for bringing clarity to complex issues, building trusted relationships and helping organizations translate ambitious goals into practical, sustainable plans.

Beyond her professional work, Benedicta is deeply committed to contributing to organizations that strengthen communities and create better opportunities for children. She serves as a Board and Governance Director with The Power of Play, an international charity focused on creating safe and inclusive play spaces for children. She is also a Board Director with the Dante Alighieri Society of British Columbia, supporting Italian-Canadian language and cultural initiatives, and an Advisory Council Member at QayQayt Elementary School.
