The first-ever 2020 Kids Brain Health Virtual Conference: “New and emerging ways of connecting,” is coming your way.

The conference serves as a venue for knowledge sharing, research mobilization and networking within our research and stakeholder community. It will take place over four days: November 9th, 10th, 12th, and 13th, with sessions dispersed from 8:00 AM – 3:00 PM (PST). Each day will focus on four overarching conference themes:

  • DAY 1 – Accessing Services in a COVID-19 World
  • DAY 2 – Emerging Ways of Delivering Treatments
  • DAY 3 – Moving Online: Harnessing the Lessons of COVID-19
  • DAY 4 – Policy and Decision Making in a COVID-19 World

Here are just a few things that you can do at this year’s conference:

  1. Listen to this year’s Fraser Mustard Lecture Awardee, Cindy Blackstock. Blackstock is a Gitxsan activist for child welfare, the executive director of the First Nations Child and Family Caring Society of Canada and a professor at McGill University.
  2. Pitch a research idea at the Family Partner Pitch Session. We want to engage families and persons with lived experience to showcase creative pitch ideas that align with KBHN’s three areas of research focus.
  3. Submit an Abstract for the Poster Sessions by Sunday, September 13, 2020 for a chance to share your research with our network. Download the abstract template: KBHN Abstract Submission.
  4. Interact using our new networking platform, hosted by gather.town – a virtual space that has a look and feel of an actual poster presentation interaction. Check it out here.
