
Sacha Bailey, Social Work Clinical Lead, BC Centre for Ability
Sacha is a pediatric Social Worker in the Early Intervention Program and the Social Work Clinical Lead at the BC Centre for Ability in Vancouver, BC, as well as a childhood disability researcher. She has over 16 years experience in the field supporting individuals with disabilities and their families. Sacha approaches her work from a neurodiversity affirming, disability-justice, hope-focused, family-centred, and strengths-based perspective.
Sacha’s research and clinical interests include the quality of life and well-being of caregivers and children with neurodisabilities, the facilitators and barriers to their access to health and social services, and knowledge translation in rehabilitation contexts. Teaching expertise includes: practice with individuals and families, practice in the disability field, loss and bereavement, pediatric social work, field education, research methods, qualitative approaches (esp. Grounded Theory).
