Dr. Adrienne Perry, Ph.D., C.Psych., BCBA-D

Dr. Adrienne Perry is a registered clinical Psychologist and Board Certified Behaviour Analyst. She is a full Professor in the Department of Psychology, Faculty of Health, at York University. She earned her PhD in Clinical-Developmental Psychology in 1990.
Dr. Perry joined the York faculty in 2002. She teaches graduate courses in the Clinical Developmental program including: psychoeducational assessment, clinical assessment and diagnosis, supervision and consultation, autism and developmental disorders, and professional ethics. She supervises graduate students both academically (having graduated 21 PhDs) and clinically (approximately 70 students) e.g., in the York University Psychology Clinic. She has
Her research focus is in the area of Autism and Developmental Disabilities including assessment/diagnosis, family issues, (including family culture) and intervention effectiveness, particularly Intensive Behavioural Intervention. In collaboration with students and colleagues, she has approximately 100 publications and has held CIHR and SSHRC funding.
Dr. Perry is also actively involved in service roles at the University (e.g., Graduate Program Director; currently Director of Clinical Training) and in Ontario-based organizations related to autism, developmental disabilities, and the professions of clinical psychology (e.g., academic representative on the Council of the College of Psychologists of Ontario) and behaviour analysis. In addition, Dr. Perry has consulted extensively to the provincial Ministry of Children and Youth Services regarding early intervention for children with autism and related matters. She has also served on various expert panels related to these controversial issues.
Prior to joining the York University faculty, Dr. Perry worked as a Psychologist and Coordinator of Research for the TRE-ADD program (Treatment, Research, and Education for Autism and Developmental Disorders) at Thistletown Regional Centre.
