Alexandra Minuk is a Ph.D. student in the Faculty of Education at Queen’s University and Projects Manager of the Autism and Developmental Disabilities Education Research Group (Add*Ed). Alexandra is also an instructor in the Bachelor of Education program at Queen’s for courses focused on supporting students with exceptionalities and using educational technology.
With a background in psychology and education, Alexandra’s research interests span several topics related to child development and the role of schools in promoting it. Using longitudinal data from the province of Ontario, Alexandra’s recent research applies geospatial and statistical techniques to the study of classroom placement for students with autism. Based on a commitment to improving inclusion for students with autism in education more broadly, Alexandra’s doctoral work examines how teachers engage in individualized instruction with the aim of informing educational policy. Within KBHN, Alexandra has held a policy development practicum fellowship and led a team of trainees to evaluate the training program.
