
Brent Wennekes, BBA

Brent Wennekes is committed to advancing innovation, entrepreneurship, and strategic partnerships that create lasting impact. With a BBA from Acadia University (2005) and a Public Relations diploma from Algonquin College (2008), he has spent years working in business development, stakeholder engagement, and industry-academic collaboration.
He has worked with provincial and national innovation organizations to help move research beyond the lab and into practical applications. Specializing in strategic business consulting, program development, and partnership facilitation, he supports companies in commercializing technologies and building strategic partnerships across diverse sectors.
Brent supports economic reconciliation and Indigenous entrepreneurship through his work and studies. He is pursuing a Master’s in Development Practice – Indigenous Development at the University of Winnipeg, focusing on business and financial models for sustainable, Indigenous-led growth. This has led him to supporting industry partnerships with Indigenous communities to align economic development with community priorities.
He has contributed to research-driven innovation and social impact initiatives, including serving on KBHN’s Research Management Committee.
Brent lives in Lester Beach on Treaty One Territory with his wife and two daughters, who remind him daily of what truly matters.
