Preeti Kar is postdoctoral fellow at the University of British Columbia, researching brain development in infants and young children after various prenatal and postnatal experiences (e.g., breastfeeding, prenatal alcohol exposure, prenatal maternal depression).
Samantha Micsinszki is a registered nurse with a PhD from the Lawrence S. Bloomberg Faculty of Nursing at the University of Toronto. Her doctoral work examined factors associated with sleep quality in parents of children with Autism Spectrum Disorder.
Maude Champagne is a Neurosciences Phd Student at Queen's University under the supervision of Dr. James Reynolds. She is also a registered Social Worker, psychotherapist and speaker.
Her research focuses on analyzing disability policy in Canada to evaluate the extent to which policy is meeting the needs of individuals with disabilities. Her work focuses on comparing and contrasting the design and delivery of disability programs across the country, and determining the barriers and facilitators to accessing disability programs in Canada.
Dr. Ryan C.N. D’Arcy, Ph.D., Eng.L., is a neuroscientist and entrepreneur. He is the co-founder, President, and Chief Scientific Officer of HealthTech Connex a brain health technology company. He also holds Professorship appointments at Simon Fraser University and the University of British Columbia, where he serves as a BC Leadership Chair in neuroimaging and neurotechnology.
Donna Thomson is a caregiver, author and activist. She is the mother of two grown children, one who has severe cerebral palsy and medical complexity.
Sarah is a Registered Psychologist and Associate Professor in Clinical Psychology (Pediatric Neuropsychology) at the University of Victoria (UVic) with expertise in cognitive rehabilitation, neuropsychological intervention/assessment, and neurodevelopmental disabilities.
Vanessa Tomas, M.Sc., is a SSHRC-funded Ph.D. candidate in the Rehabilitation Sciences Institute and Collaborative Program in Neuroscience.
Dr. Chaya Kulkarni is the Director of Infant Mental Health Promotion (IMHP) at The Hospital for Sick Children (SickKids). IEMHP is a national organization which improves outcomes across the lifespan through translating and promoting the science of early mental health into practice with families during pregnancy, infancy, and early childhood.
Dr. James Reynolds is a graduate of Queen’s University (B.Sc., 1982, Ph.D, 1987). His thesis research investigated the neurochemical mechanisms underlying heavy metal toxicity. Subsequently, he completed postdoctoral training at the Addiction Research Foundation and the University of Toronto.
