Join the Kids Brain Health Foundation Board of Directors
July 23, 2025 | KBH Foundation, News

At Kids Brain Health Foundation (KBHF), we believe every child deserves the chance to thrive. Across Canada, approximately one in ten children and youth live with a neurodevelopmental disability—conditions like autism, cerebral palsy, and fetal alcohol spectrum disorder. These children represent the vast majority of childhood disability cases in our country. While science has made significant progress in developing effective ways to support them, those discoveries too often remain out of reach for the families who need them most. KBHF exists to change that.
Since 2016, KBHF has been the philanthropic engine alongside Kids Brain Health Network (KBHN), Canada’s leading research network focused on neurodevelopmental disabilities, and the newly launched Kids Brain Health Innovation Fund (KBH-IF), which helps scale and spread proven solutions. Together, these three entities form KBH+, a national enterprise working across sectors to improve outcomes for children and families.
KBHF and KBHN have invested over $100 million in projects that deliver real-world results, enabling earlier diagnosis, expanded access to effective therapies, and stronger family support. By working in partnership with researchers, service providers, and community organizations, we help make evidence-based interventions accessible in homes, schools and communities across the nation.
An invitation to lead
We are currently seeking up to seven new members to join our national Board of Directors. This is a transformative moment in the Foundation’s evolution, and we are looking for passionate and influential individuals who are ready to help guide KBHF’s next chapter.
KBHF seeks board candidates who are committed to advancing its mission and willing to use their expertise and networks to support the Foundation. In addition to governance duties, board members are expected to be active advocates for KBHF. We aim to build a board with diverse skills, including but not limited to: nonprofit governance, finance and investment, fundraising, legal and compliance, healthcare and research, lived/living experience with neurodevelopmental disabilities, community advocacy, and public engagement. National representation is important, as our work benefits children and youth across Canada. While lived experience is valued, it is not required; what matters most is a genuine commitment to supporting families, along with a readiness to contribute meaningfully.
If you’re ready to use your influence for impact and to be part of something truly meaningful, we would love to hear from you.
