Louis is a Bear Clan member of Nisichawayasihk Cree Nation. He is a registered psychotherapist and doctoral candidate at the University of Toronto. Over the past two decades, Louis has worked extensively with adults with neurodevelopmental differences across mental health, forensic, and community-based settings. His clinical and research efforts focus on relational, ethical, and culturally grounded approaches to wellness. Louis serves as an Assistant Clinical Professor (Adjunct) in the Department of Psychiatry and Behavioural Neurosciences at McMaster University and as Special Projects Officer for Indigenous Curriculum and Pedagogy at the University of Toronto Mississauga. His doctoral research explores Indigenous perspectives on helping and healing, with the goal of strengthening holistic approaches to care. Louis joined the Indigenous Advisory Circle to support the development of community-driven, culturally relevant solutions that honour Indigenous knowledge and improve outcomes for First Nations, Inuit, and Métis children, families, and communities.
