Strategic Investment Fund
Kids Brain Health Network launched the $2.5 million Strategic Investment Fund (SIF) in 2021, with public and private sector partners contributing nearly $1.9 million to support ventures with strong near-future impact potential.
Through an open competition, the five strongest applications were funded through this process. The SIF projects were required to bring external partner financial support that matched or exceeded the Networks of Centres of Excellence (NCE) contribution, and also include family/patient stakeholders as members of the research team.
These new projects span our Network’s three priority areas of early identification, evidence-based interventions, and increased support for families.
As we celebrate this milestone in truly collaborative research, our thanks and congratulations go to five research teams and many partners, including:
- 10 Principal Investigators, based at Cummings School of Medicine and the University of Calgary; Offord Centre for Child Studies and McMaster University; McMaster Children’s Hospital and Hamilton Health Sciences; the University of Ottawa; CHEO (Children’s Hospital of Eastern Ontario); University Health Network, and; CAMH (Centre for Addiction and Mental Health)
- 28 Co-Investigators & Researchers
- 17 Funding Partners
- 50 Community Collaborators & Family Members
