Sarah Raza

Sarah Raza is a PhD student in the Department of Pediatrics at the University of Alberta, under the supervision of Dr. Lonnie Zwaigenbaum. She previously completed her MSc in Neuroscience at the University of Lethbridge, where she examined the role of early experiences on animal behavior, brain development, and plasticity. Her research pursuits have included examining the effects of prenatal drug exposure, executive function training, and therapeutic interventions on the developing brain and subsequent behavioral outcomes. Sarah is currently working on the Canadian Infant Sibling Study as part of her doctoral research. She hopes to better understand the developmental pathways and risk markers leading to the emergence of Autism Spectrum Disorder in at-risk infants, with particular emphasis on the reciprocal relationships between emotional regulation and attention control.
