Dr. Jennifer Zwicker has been appointed by KBHN Board as the new Deputy Chief Scientific Officer (DCSO) of the Kids Brain Health Network.
Dr. Zwicker is Director of Health Policy at the School of Public Policy and an Assistant Professor in the Faculty of Kinesiology at the University of Calgary. Her research utilizes economic evaluation and policy analysis to assess interventions to inform policy around the allocation of funding, services and supports for children and youth with developmental disabilities and their families.
Speaking on behalf of KBHN, Dr. James Reynolds, Chief Scientific Officer of KBHN is thrilled about Dr. Zwicker’s acceptance of the role.
“The breadth of Jennifer Zwicker’s background in developmental neuroscience, health economics and policy, combined with her record of accomplishment in research, make her an ideal candidate for this position,” Reynolds said.
Dr. Zwicker has worked previously with KBHN in several capacities, including as the Researcher Representative on the organization’s board and as a member of the Trainee Policy Advocacy Committee. Her experience and knowledge of the scope of KBHN’s research programs, and dedication to the Network’s success, will be valuable assets for the leadership team.
“Dr. Zwicker has also demonstrated a commitment to trainee development and building translational research capacity in the child development field across the Network,” Reynolds continued. “And provided leadership in the development of policy initiatives impacting child development and family health.”
