Description

The KBHN Implementation Skills Development Awards support trainees (e.g., postdoctoral fellows, graduate students, and research staff—assistants, coordinators and associates) at a Canadian post-secondary or research institution working on a “capstone” or research project in the field of neurodevelopmental disabilities with a focus on children and their families.

KBHN’s mission is to help “kids with neurodevelopmental disabilities to live their best lives” and we need to reach as many children and families as we can. Providing opportunities such as this one to dedicated and passionate trainees brings us closer to our goals.

Applicants should indicate how they will benefit from developing their skills in implementation sciences. This award aims to support the creation of innovative solutions that have the potential to improve the lives of children with neurodevelopmental disabilities and their caregivers in Canada.

The KBHN Implementation Skills Development Awards will fund registration fees for Level 1 course in the Implementation Support Specialist Certificate, offered online by The Center for Implementation:

Participants will receive a certificate on completion of Level 1.

After obtaining the Level 1 certification, you will have new skills to design, implement, spread, and scale change in these ways:

  • Use data to critically reflect on the problem
  • Use evidence and theory to select change strategies
  • Assess context, readiness, and fit
  • Facilitate and support implementation
  • Use a framework to guide evaluation of implementation quality
  • Plan for sustainability, spread, and scale

KBHN is invested in the future of our trainees and may be offering more courses in the near future. This course is a prerequisite for all other courses.
