Kids Brain Health Network (KBHN) is seeking qualified individuals to join our Programs Advisory Committee. This committee plays a critical role in KBHN’s proposal evaluation and selection process. KBHN is committed to funding impactful activities that improve outcomes for children with neurodevelopmental disabilities and their families. As part of our mandate, we aim to foster interdisciplinary collaboration and bring together experts from various fields to assess the most promising implementation, and commercialization initiatives.
We encourage applicants from diverse backgrounds, including but not limited to:
- Individuals with Lived Experience, such as family members, caregivers or youth who bring valuable perspectives
- Implementation and Evaluation Specialists experienced in integrating research findings into practice
- Commercialization Experts with knowledge of translating research innovations into market-ready solutions
- Academic Experts and Scholars in neurodevelopmental health, neuroscience, pediatrics, health services, and other related fields
- Policy Leaders with experience in public health, education, and social services or other related areas
- Clinical Leaders with frontline expertise in adapting and delivering programs

About the Role
Members of the Programs Advisory Committee will play a key role in assessing proposals and proposing interdisciplinary and equity-focused funding recommendations based on scientific merit, potential for impact, feasibility, and alignment with KBHN’s priorities. Committee members will:
- Propose for selection and funding of the Implementation proposal demonstrating the most promising transformative research proposals to address core challenges in early identification, access to evidence-based interventions, and support for families that bridge the gap between scientific innovation to uptake on a national scale.
- Propose for selection and funding the innovation proposals that produce measurable economic, societal and health benefits, and have the potential for real-world implementation, intellectual property creation, and/or scale-up and spread in the delivery of solutions to the challenges faced by children with neurodevelopmental disabilities and their families, whilst building an ecosystem of skilled, diverse people that fulfill industry and societal needs for Canada.
- Propose for selection of KBHN award winners.
- Provide other strategic advice as requested.
Key Responsibilities
- Review proposals and recommend priority innovation and implementation funding opportunities to the CEO.
- Review training, workshop and award recommendations related to training and talent development.
- Recommend strategic considerations regarding Network initiatives and awards to the CEO.
- Ensure Fair and Transparent Evaluation: Adhere to KBHN’s policies and guidelines for a fair review process.
Commitment
- The first term is two years, followed by one-year extensions with a maximum of 4 years served consecutively.
- Full virtual meetings will be held twice a year.
- Members will be required to review applications in a timely manner and be prepared for discussions.
- Honoraria will be provided.
