Vancouver, British Columbia — In response to the pressing need to expand the ‘F‐words for Child Development’ training, KBHN and CanChild have successfully launched the F-Words Foundations Course online– available for free to anyone in the world.

F-Words provides families, caregivers, health care providers, and educators with a fresh perspective on nurturing the growth and potential of children. The F-words – Family, Fun, Friends, Functioning, Fitness, and Future – represent a shift from traditional thinking about children’s abilities and disabilities, emphasizing their strengths and holistic well-being.

The F-words Training Program draws from real-life experiences of families, youth, and health care providers. This methodology seeks to showcase the practical impact of these six fundamental concepts, illustrating how they contribute to children’s development and overall quality of life.

One of the highlights of the F-words Foundations Course is the provision of practical tools designed to equip participants with actionable strategies for incorporating the F-words into their daily lives and practices. These tools are available free of charge and can be accessed in multiple languages, enhancing their accessibility and applicability across diverse communities. By the end of the course or on completing the course, participants will possess the knowledge and skills to integrate the F-words effectively, fostering a more inclusive and empowering environment for children’s development.

The F-words Training Program represents a pioneering approach that empowers participants to celebrate children’s strengths and potential while fostering an environment that promotes holistic growth. By embracing the F-words – Family, Fun, Friends, Functioning, Fitness, and Future – caregivers and professionals can contribute to the positive development of children and youth across diverse communities.
